I was really happy, when I noticed the latest murals by a French crew of urban artists called Animae Dementia. As they report ed on their blog, they are exploring Berlin right now. After they hit the old NSA station Teufelsberg they recently left their marks on the walls of the abandoned Bärenquell Brewery!  Being well equipped with straps and other climbing stuff, they are able to grapple themselves from the roof and paint formerly inaccessible wall parts. Nevertheless it’s not just the technique, but also the resulting murals, showing crazy, comic-like animals, which are just amazing.   I’m looking forward to see some more abandoned murals by Animae Dementia in near future.

For years, Banksy has been getting away with almost everything imaginable.  He does his work fast, and he does it with quality.  The reason I think Banksy is the greatest street artist, is because he paints for a purpose. If you look closely at his stencil paintings, they have a purpose for where they are, and what they are.  For Ex: The Riot Policeman in the painting with Dorothy is supposed to represent Unlawful Search & Seizure.  This is just one example out of hundreds around Bristol.  From the general public point of view, and my own, these "Murals" only created a good vibe within the town.  They send a message to the people who look twice at the painting, and amaze the one's that look once. In my own opinion, I believe Banksy should be allowed to do these paintings legally.

Opening The (Painted) Curtain

Banksy - Bristol
What is Street Art? It's Any art developed in public spaces, that is "In The Streets", though the term usually refers to unsanctioned art, as opposed to government sponsored initiatives, making it illegal almost every time. The term can include traditional graffiti artwork, sculpture, sticker artwheat pasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, flash mobbing and street installations. Most of the time, the term street art, or the more specific term "post-graffiti", is used to tells people who live in that public-space what the difference is from territorial graffiti, vandalism, and corporate art. Now, like I said, its illegal.  So how does anyone get famous without getting caught?  By being 100% discreet with it, and having a street name.  The fastest form of graffiti would have to  be Stencil Graffiti, and no one does stencil graffiti better than Banksy.
