Burglar Steals $100,000 Artwork from Marc Ecko Gallery

Police are searching for a burglar who swiped a piece of art worth $100,000 from the Marc Ecko art gallery Thursday evening.
The alleged thief walked into the gallery at 40 W. 23rd St. at about 6 p.m. and removed a piece of art hanging in the hallway of the second floor, according to police.
The artwork, “Untitled (Calvin Klein),” was by Brooklyn-based graphic design and graffiti artist KAWS, and featured acrylic over an ad poster for Calvin Klein jeans.
The burglar rolled up the artwork, put it into a tube and walked out of the building, police said.
The man pictured in the surveillance video still provided by NYPD is about 5 feet 11, according to police. He was last seen wearing a dark green hoodie, blue jeans, a tan baseball hat, dark sunglasses and running sneakers. He was also carrying a dark backpack.  Mark Ecko is one of the more famous graffiti artist.  His work can be seen all around Brooklyn, or at least whats left of it due to his convictions.  To this day he is doing work only on canvas, and even got his own shoe line.  Something that puzzles me though is that this surveillance footage is live, as in they were watching him as he was taking this piece of art.  How didn't they get there in time?  Inside job?  Whatever the case is, don't be fooled by the debt.  It only took Marc Ecko about $50 for the paint and ad itself to make the painting.

A New Year Everyone Knew About

Not every New Year is one to remember.  Every year the ball drops and a few singers that lack talent sing on times square, but this year was different.  No matter what you did on New Years (Party, Family, Etc) it cant compare to how big this one was mentally.  For years the number 2012 has showed up in books, in newspapers, and in historian reports, and we still don't even know why it was found.  If it's one thing about life that I love, it's surprises.  So, I guess we can make this year the best it can be.  IF it comes down to it, well, Happy Apocalypse.
